JOB SUMMARY

Mobile Airport Authority is seeking responsible and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Part-Time Aviation Worker Screener at Mobile Regional Airport, a small non-hub commercial airport. This role is crucial to maintaining a safe and secure airport environment by screening aviation workers at various locations throughout the airport terminal to enforce Transportation Security Regulation (TSR) 1542.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct thorough screenings of aviation workers, including identity verification, screening of personal property of aviation workers, and adherence to security protocols. Individual(s) will be stationed at various locations around the airport, such as entry points to restricted areas, terminal facilities, and ensure all personnel are authorized to access specific areas. Ensure that all aviation workers comply with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations and airport security protocols. Report any violations or suspicious behavior to airport security. Accurately maintain records of screenings, including logs of personnel screened, incidents reported, and any security breaches. Coordinate with airport security and management to report any irregularities or issues encountered during screening. Provide clear and courteous communication to aviation workers while performing screening duties, always maintaining a professional demeanor. Work hours will be randomized and communicated one week in advance, requiring flexibility and adaptability.

 

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED

Secure equipment including metal detectors, hand wands, radios, and small tools. Computer, calculator and office equipment as needed.
