Temporary Road Closure on Perimeter Rd. Begins January 20
MOBILE, Ala. (January 9, 2025) – Beginning Monday, January 20, Perimeter Road at the Brookley Aeroplex will close for approximately 3-weeks while the Mobile Airport Authority widens the roadway and installs new utilities near the entrance to the new Mobile International Airport (BFM) Terminal and parking garage.
During this closure, motorists should follow all posted detours and use alternative routes. Contractors will have both fixed and mobile lighted signs in place to direct drivers. While limited local traffic will still be allowed in areas adjacent to the construction zones, all other traffic must use the posted detours.
Please note: there will be no through access between Michigan Avenue and Military Road via Perimeter Road on the Brookley Aeroplex during this period.
Available Detour Alternatives:
- Gatotkoco Drive to Dauphin Island parkway to I-10 to Michigan Avenue.
- Access to Old Military Road will be accessed via Dauphin Island Parkway
Please plan for extra travel time and exercise caution in the area. We appreciate your patience as we work to improve the transportation infrastructure for our community.
